An Enchanting West Virginia Vineyard Wedding - Lauren and Justin

Last year we launched our very first Instagram competition where a special Bride could win a pair of lace boots of their choice. Today I have the pleasure to share with you the stunning wedding of our competition winner Lauren who was married in the most magical setting, West Virginia’s Daniel Vineyards.

Filled with beautiful and whimsical details, including butterflies and a vintage floral wreath created by Lauren’s mom, Lauren and Justin’s special day was just jaw droppingly gorgeous. Lauren even had a ‘Flower Grandpa’ to honor her incredible veteran Grandfather! The whole day was just the perfect celebration of a love which started back when Lauren and Justin were teenagers in high school.

Beautiful Bride Lauren wore the incredible ‘Pippa’ gown by Hailey Paige, a romantic creation of lace and tulle, and paired it with our ‘Goodnight Sweetheart’ lace over the knee boots. The result was the most breathtaking romantic Bridal look, oozing glamour and vintage perfection. When I first saw the photos by Melissa Kincaid Photography I could not wait to share their wedding with you!

So how did you meet your husband and how did he propose?

I met Justin at a small family- owned restaurant we both started working at in high school. We began as great friends, but he took me to prom, we started dating, and have been together for the last 6 years. As far as the proposal, he planned a surprise beach trip for us one summer. One evening during our trip, he suggested that we take a nice stroll on the beach. At sunset, he simply got down on one knee and proposed with his grandmother’s engagement ring. It was completely romantic and unexpected!

Where did you get married and who did you invite?

Justin and I were wed at Daniel Vineyards in Beckley, West Virginia, inviting about 100 of our closest family and friends. The vineyard had beautiful views of the mountains, grape vines, and lakes. When we saw the small, intimate vineyard, we knew it was just perfect for the type of wedding we wanted.

What was the main inspiration for your wedding?

When we started planning our wedding, the idea was to make it feel as enchanting and whimsical as possible. So when we walked onto the vineyard for the first time, we knew it was perfect for us. I fell in love with peach floral bridesmaid dresses for my eight girls, so my colors were centered around different hues of red, peach, blush, sage, and white. My mother made a stunning, giant floral wreath that hung from the ceiling at our reception. The wreath incorporated all of the colors accented in the girls’ dresses! The ceremony area featured an ivy covered arch, with small ivy wreaths hanging from the chairs. I also find butterflies to be very representative of romance and love, so we lined the aisles with hanging glass jars with a live butterfly in each (which everyone gladly released right after the ceremony) and rose petals lining the aisles. During the ceremony, we also had a butterfly release where my sister/maid of honor read a poem. This was done with our wedding party and families in order to represent joining us together as husband and wife. Having butterflies landing on our gowns and bouquets throughout the ceremony made it even more magical than I could have pictured!

Tell us about your wedding look

My “love at first sight” gown was from the collection Blush by Hailey Paige (Pippa gown). I absolutely adore anything lace, so the lace sleeves and romantic feel of the dress won me over right away. I was really going for a romantic/ vintage look so the vintage pin waves and real flower broach for my hair worked perfectly. I was so excited to get the over- the- knee boots because they fit in perfectly with that romantic/ vintage look I was going for. They were actually the final inspiration for my hair and makeup!

What made you choose a pair of House of Elliot boots for your wedding day?

When I saw your boots for the first time, I absolutely fell in love with them. They were so unique and I knew they fit in exactly with the look I was imagining. They were the type of shoes a bride could only dream of wearing on her wedding day! So, when I saw the contest, I immediately entered, never dreaming I would actually win. They were definitely something no one had ever seen before, and all my guests are still talking about how beautiful the boots were!

What did you love the most about your wedding day?

As incredibly perfect as every detail of our wedding was, at the end of the day, what I loved most was walking down the aisle, seeing how excited my groom was to finally see me in my wedding gown and marry me.

What pearls of wisdom would you share with future brides who are planning their wedding?

Planning a wedding can become very stressful. So I would tell any future brides to just be sure to add their special/ unique touches to their wedding, but also not to sweat all of the little things. At the end of the day, all the wedding plans will fall into place perfectly, and they’ll get to marry their best friend!

Anything else you would like to share?

One of the most special parts of our day was being able to incorporate my grandfather into our ceremony. As I didn’t have a flower girl, he was more than willing to be a “flower grandpa” in our wedding, dressing in uniform. We wanted to the day to also include honoring him as a veteran and wonderful grandparent!
