Ghosts and goblins, spooks galore. Scary witches at your door. Jack o’lanterns shining bright, wishing you a haunting night.
As the leaves change to gold and the skies are more grey than blue, we start to look forward to the spookiest night of the year: Halloween. The 31st of October is the day of the year where we can go wild with decor, enjoy dressing up and eat loads – sounds a lot like a wedding, doesn’t it?

The combination of the two gives birth to a fabulous concoction of opulence, playfulness and the opportunity to let your imagination run wild.

The Dress:
By far one of the parts of Halloween is the opportunity to dress up – the more outlandish, the better. While the image of the “normal” bride usually conjures foaming clouds of white organza, a Halloween bride has an excellent excuse to part with tradition. From deepest black to sultry red and jewel toned green, these hues add a fabulously alternative witchy feel to the day. Our sure favourites are a stunningly elegant Emma Hunt black silk gown, paired here with our Beatrice Elliot black boots, and this one of a kind custom emerald work of art.

Of course, not every bride might want to stray so far from tradition. We absolutely adore this crocheted Anna Fuca dress. It’s firm structure adds an element of power that is not usually associated with the traditional style wedding gown.

The Shoes and Accessories:
The perfect companion to these alternative gowns, are our alternative lace boots. Whether adding a splash of red or elegant black, our boots will certainly add a fabulous and stylish edge to a Halloween bridal outfit.

Finally, if you are looking for an alternative wedding hair accessory we think that this absolutely delicious black mini top hat by Chantall Mallett is the perfect finishing touch to a Halloween wedding look!
The Venue and Table Setting:
Whilst the country house hotel is very practical choice in wedding venue, a Halloween themed wedding gives the more original couple the perfect excuse to think outside the box when it comes to locations. The UK has numerous castle ruins to choose from – check out nationaltrust.org.uk for the very best ones, and apple orchards offer the opportunity to indulge in one of the most quirky Halloween traditions – apple bobbing anyone? Think of the gorgeous fall colours in the photos!

In contrast to the pretty pastel colours of spring and summer weddings, a Halloween do gives the bolder bride the opportunity to indulge in red, orange, gold and black. We simply adore this Gothic wedding inspiration, shot in an imposing Tuscan villa. The glimmering candles, combined with the golden goblets, create a fabulously glamorous feel that adds a touch of spook to the atmosphere.

And whilst we love a dark Gothic inspired setting we cannot forget a table arrangement which includes one of Halloween’s most iconic symbols: the pumpkin of course!

So with this we wish you a very Happy Halloween, and happy wedding planning!
